چکیده

A performance analysis of likelihood ratio test (LRT)-based and generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT)based array receivers for the detection of a known real-valued signal corrupted by a potentially noncircular interference is considered in this paper. The distribution of the decision statistics associated with the LRT and GLRT is studied. This allows us to give exact closed-form expressions of the probability of detection (PD) and false alarm (PFA) for two LRT-based receivers. Then, asymptotic (with respect to the data length) closed-form expressions are given for PD and PFA for four GLRT-based receivers. Finally, in order to strengthen the obtained results, some illustrative examples are presented.

GLRT-based array receivers for the detection of a known signal with unknown parameters corrupted by noncircular interferences

The detection of a known signal with unknown parameters in the presence of noise plus interferences (called total noise) whose covariance matrix is unknown is an important problem which has received much attention these last decades for applications such as radar, satellite localization or time acquisition in radio communications. However, most of the available receivers assume a second order (...

Second-Order Optimal Array Receivers for Synchronization of BPSK, MSK, and GMSK Signals Corrupted by Noncircular Interferences

The synchronization and/or time acquisition problem in the presence of interferences has been strongly studied these last two decades, mainly to mitigate the multiple access interferences from other users in DS/CDMA systems. Among the available receivers, only some scarce receivers may also be used in other contexts such as F/TDMA systems. However, these receivers assume implicitly or explicitl...

Performance of Target Detection in Phased-MIMO Radars

In this paper, the problem of target detection in phased-MIMO radars is considered and target detection performance of phased-MIMO radars is compared with MIMO and phased-array radars. Phased-MIMO radars combine advantages of the MIMO and phased-array radars. In these radars, the transmit array will be partitioned into a number of subarrays that are allowed to overlap and each subarray transmit...

A Novel Interference Rejection Method for GPS Receivers

This paper proposes a new method for rejecting the Continuous Wave Interferences (CWI) in the Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers. The proposed filter is made by cascading an adaptive Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter and a Wavelet Packet Transform (WPT) based filter. Although adaptive FIR filters are easy to implement and have a linear phase, they create self-noise in the rejection of...

Adaptive Signal Detection in Auto-Regressive Interference with Gaussian Spectrum

A detector for the case of a radar target with known Doppler and unknown complex amplitude in complex Gaussian noise with unknown parameters has been derived. The detector assumes that the noise is an Auto-Regressive (AR) process with Gaussian autocorrelation function which is a suitable model for ground clutter in most scenarios involving airborne radars. The detector estimates the unknown...
